Tasks & accountabilities

Network & Resources (ATA42):

Integrated Modular Avionic (IMA) include elements of a modern distributed architecture for avionics system from A380 and for future developments; these elements are modules for processing (Core Processing Input Output Module – CPIOM), modules for data concentration (Input Output Module - IOM, Common Remote Data Concentrators - CRDC).
An AFDX network provides infrastructure for data exchanges between IMA modules and replaceable units; Configuration files mapped on these elements allow architecture building up.

Test activities related to IMA address from physical layer of the network to integration of the end to end maintenance.

AFDX Network, IMA platforms offer multiple opportunities to collect data about avionics system behavior. These data are generally stored in log files. Analysis of log files correlated to operational parameters will lead to significant improvements regarding detection of anomalies.

You will lead various missions such as involvement in the definition of tests very early during development; supplier tests monitoring, test preparation, analysis after test execution and analysis of flight test data.

You will be in interface with numerous stakeholders, including Design Office in Toulouse (France), but also Laboratories in Hamburg (Germany) and Filton (UK).

In the frame of A350XWB, A380, A400M and new developments, you will have the following missions and responsibilities:

o Give status on test progress and technical events
o Improve test strategy and propose quick improvement to optimize activity efficiency.
o Improve test means and ensure compliance with test needs.
o Improve flight test data analysis by correlation of monitoring data with operational data.
o Contribute to a technical follow-up of test activities subcontracted.

·  Improvements related IMA testing

o Contribute to in service analysis in order to collect elements for design of new architectures.
o Define efficient way of testing for new architectures.
o Define multi-purpose test means to address several programs or several architecture variants

Maintenance Applications (AT45/46):

o Prepare and perform lab test campaigns around maintenance applications embedded on FSA-NG system (ACMS, DLCS, …)
o Design test procedures including partly automatic testing for these test campaigns
o Contribute to V&V strategy definition and deployment for these applications
o Improve test strategy and propose quick improvement to optimize activity efficiency through automatization of test procedure and automatization of post-processing for lab test.
o Improve flight test data analysis by automatization of post-processing to enable quicker analysis of flight test campaign and enable monitoring of flights (Big data infrastructure)
o Provide continuous test progress to Design Offices as well as test result analysis
o Give status on test progress and technical events
o Contribute to a technical follow-up of test activities subcontracted.

You will operationally report to the Network & Resources Work Package Leader, and to the A350XWB Maintenance and Flight OPS Work Package Leader, and functionally to the head of Maintenance/IMA/Flight Operations group.
