Job Description

Do you love aeronautics and want to help us design & manufacture the best aircrafts in the world?

You will join the organization of the Airbus Cabin Engineering, which is the cabin heart of the Airbus Commercial Aircraft for all A/C programs. With the rapid evolution of the technology capabilities in the area of connectivity and digitalization, the expectation of our customers for more flexibility and very short development life-cycle for new features is growing exponentially.

Several interesting vacancies for System and Software Engineers (Development/Architecture/Test) have arisen within Airbus Cabin Engineering in following technical domains:

·  Cabin management System
·  Inflight Entertainment and Connectivity Systems

Cabin Management System (CMS)
The Cabin Management System (CMS) is the cabin heart of the Airbus commercial Aircraft for all A/C programs. It is the system which allows the Cabin Crew to operate the cabin and it manages and monitors all features providing passengers comfort and safety during the flight, like cabin general illumination, reading lights, louder speakers for passenger announcement, temperature in the cabin, boarding music, doors status, smoke detection, etc… The CMS is a strategic asset of Airbus and it is therefore under strong management focus and attention.

Inflight Entertainment (IFE) and Connectivity Systems
IFE and Connectivity Systems provide the passenger a seamless connected and home cinema like experience. Our ambition is to provide the Airlines with latest state of the art systems and technologies, which are mainly driven by consumer electronics and telecommunication trends.
For Airlines the passenger connectivity and entertainment systems are a key differentiation factor in their competition.
Key challenges for us are to provide the customers with a wide choice of different and highly tailored solutions while master short system development cycles.

In both areas Airbus is working on future system generations paving the way for future new aircrafts and cabin services.
Modern software architecture, wireless technology, IoT, Model-Based System Engineering and Agile methodology will be the corner-stones of our ways of working. 

In this context, we are looking for several positions in the area of System Architecture/System Engineering/System Validation & Verification and Version Engineering.

What can you expect?

As a System Architect:

·  You guide, coordinate and control all activities for functional, physical architecture and integration satisfying future evolution
·  You define model-based system architectures in collaboration with cross functional teams in the frame of Cabin Electronic Systems
·  You reduce internal product variety by development of platform and module concepts fitting to product lines and cross-program approach and you collect customer needs to define objectives and scope of R&T projects
·  You are responsible for the planning, steering and executing R&T and improvement projects to deliver innovative technical solutions in line with programme expectations and strategy.
 

As a System Engineer:

·  You are responsible for the definition of the system and software related requirements in the area of CMS or IFE and Connectivity Systems
·  You assess the impact of new features introduction and concept proposal
·  You prepare on functional and system level of the software/system related strategy documents and system specifications by using MBSE tools
·  You lead the investigation of in-service issues related to the respective systems, fix proposals and you drive system/software improvement together with our suppliers

As a Validation & Verification Engineer:

·  You work on the verification of functionality and performance of complex systems (applications, software, embedded systems) in the test rig as well as in the aircraft on ground and during flight tests
·  You prepare the related system integration test concepts on functional and system level
·  You manage problem reports as single point of entry for all reported issues from the Final Assembly Line, Flight Test Centre, Delivery Centre and Customer Support Team
·  You drive and monitor maturity improvement of the System by a new and innovative mean of V & V, using e.g. MBSE tests and Simulation

As a System Version Engineer:

·  You are the project coordinator for a customer version of our system products
·  You coordinate the customized technical definitions with internal and external customers & suppliers.
·  You support to system tests at supplier test premises
·  You define the customized test instructions
·  You are our main Interface between system engineering and production line
·  You are an active contributor to continuous improvement projects, like new tools, process and methods

What does your boarding pass look like?

· 
You hold a degree of 3 years or more in Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunication or comparable, ideally combined with a good (first) experience in project management

·  You are experienced in TCP/IP and related communication protocols, CAN-Bus, TSN, AFDX, Ethernet, data network topologies and data security fundamentals AND/OR
·  You have experience in wireless & IoT technology, IP Network architecture and Docker platforms
·  Ideally you are used to work in Model Based System Engineering (preferably in SysML)
·  Any knowledge of LEAN/AGILE methods is an advantage
·  Language Skills: negotiation level of English. German and other languages are appreciated
