Description of the job

A position of Experienced Analyst (Market Research and Forecasting) (m/f) has just opened within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse. You will join the department Global Market Forecast.

The Global Market Forecast team conducts market research and market forecasting to contribute to business growth and internationalisation. It is a part of the Strategic Marketing department. Most notably, we produce the annual Global Market Forecast for Airbus Defence and Space.

We also research market segments and geographies to assess market opportunity for AD. We coordinate with business growth, regions, strategy and other marketing departments.

The team also develops and maintains databases and tools associated to the aforementioned tasks.

Tasks & accountabilities

You will be in charge of the following main activities:

• Contributing to the annual Airbus DS Global Market Forecast (GMF) and Satellite Market Forecast (SMF)
• Conducting market research and quantitative analysis to derive market insights that are used to support business growth and strategic initiatives
• Assessing geographical and product segments to identify opportunities for Airbus DS
• Supporting Portfolio Development by providing an independent market view for major new product development
• Supporting Strategy Development by providing analysis of evolving industrial challenges, operational requirements and technological trends with the objective to identify and trigger investigation of potential new areas of growth
• Contributing to development of research methodology and the team tool chest (e.g. developing macros and utilities on MS Excel and developing frameworks for analyses)
• Scoping and managing projects within the team
• Leading and organising meetings and Workshops
• Creating and delivering presentations for internal audiences

Business travel can be expected once a month to locations in Germany/France/Europe/in the world and consequently, you must be willing to travel accordingly.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

You have the experience and the following skills:

• Educated to a degree level in Engineering or in Economics, Business Administration or equivalent
• Experience in the space sector – especially in Sales, Marketing, Engineering or Procurement functions
• Market research and/or business intelligence experience
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel-Skills (functions, pivot tables, macros etc.)
• Working level understanding of statistics (probability, distributions, regression and correlation)
• Problem-solving and quantitative reasoning skills
• Autonomous and able to respond quickly to ad-hoc-tasks
• Negotiation level in English would be a plus
