Description of the job

A vacancy has opened within the Customer Services organisation at Airbus for the position of Line Maintenance Representative. The successful candidate will be based at the Airbus office at Birmingham Airport.

The jobholder is a member of the Flight Hour Services (FHS) organisation and reports operationally and functionally to the HO Tailored Support Program. AIRBUS Flight Hour Services (FHS) is a transnational team managed from AIRBUS Head Quarters (Toulouse) with a strong international footprint (Germany, Ireland, Singapore, India, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong-Kong, Great Britain, Brazil, Chile,…). Airbus FHS provides customised services to its Customers (mainly Airlines) ranging from FHS-Component up to a TSP (Tailored Support Program) with the objective to provide airlines with significant inventory management and repair cost savings, whilst supporting the improvement of their maintenance and engineering activities to allow an increased aircraft reliability and availability in an improved airworthy environment. Such packages include component maintenance and engineering, spare management, airframe maintenance and fleet technical management services that are delivered by cooperating with a partner, suppliers such as OEMs, MROs or other service providers, subsidiaries or between several Operating Units.

The Line Maintenance Representative is the AIRBUS focal point close to Maintenance and Repair Organisation (MRO) providing Part 145 services. His/her role is to monitor and challenge MRO to constantly improve the efficiency of the overall service to the customer at best Time Cost and Quality. The role requires a sound experience in airline maintenance operations, resilience and seniority over MRO.

The role holder will work in close contact with AIRBUS MOC based in STANSTED, with frequent contacts with (MROs) and customer Airline.

Tasks & accountabilities

The main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Be AIRBUS focal point for Birmingham MRO.
·  Conduct / participate to daily maintenance conference.
·  Coordinate and supervise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with approved maintenance organisation (MRO).
·  Advise MRO maintenance personnel on actions to clear reported problems, in close relation with AIRBUS MOC.
·  Ensure AIRBUS MOC and airline operations department are constantly informed of :
·  MEL/CDL and Deferred defects
·  Expected time for return to service for an airplane on a maintenance delay
·  Maintenance and servicing activities of fleet, and monitoring of defects and delays
·  Monitor MEL/CDL/ Deferred defects to accomplish corrective actions as soon as possible but not later than permitted by approved documents like MEL/CDL etc.
·  Arranges MRO secures the parts and support materials to be at the proper location to accomplish necessary maintenance actions.
·  Maintain constant surveillance of station activity; intervene immediately in case of major problem. Liaise with the concerned entities to provide necessary resources/clearances to minimise downtime of the aircraft.

The role is based at Birmingham Airport and travel for business may be required as needed.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Demonstrated paid experience in aircraft maintenance organisation.
·  AME Diploma or Engineering Degree, licence on A320-A321 highly appreciated.
·  Knowledge of AMASIS a plus.
·  English language at negotiation level, other languages would be a plus.
·  Excellent knowledge of Part 145.
·  Ability to interface with customer and suppliers.
·  Self-confidence and leadership capacity, including in conflictual situations.
