Description of the job

We are looking for a Lab Test Means Lead Engineer (f/m) within Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Hamburg to join the ´Design &
Lead` team at the earliest possible start date.

You will work at the Flight and Integration Test Centre.

Within the Airbus Test centre, our domain is in charge of systems integration. The team in Hamburg has been given the challenge to upgrade the current test means of the fleet (from A320 to A350 program, for all cabin, cargo and air systems), so as to tackle obsolescence and improve capacity, in order to comply with current and future needs: massive data analysis, connection with other on and off site test rigs and at suppliers'.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

What can you expect?

·  Based in Hamburg, you will be in charge of the test means projects to facilitate test campaigns in the cabin area.
·  You will lead the development of new test means and also the evolutions/upgrades made necessary due to new components or systems coming on-board Airbus aircrafts.
·  You will propose solutions to the testers and deliver on time, on cost and on quality.
·  You will be supported by a strong transnational team based in Hamburg, Bremen, Toulouse and Filton and will potentially introduce technologies from R&T projects: test rig connections, massive data analysis, virtual testing, etc.
·  You will be able to support new developments on the different sites.
·  You will contribute to the digitalisation transformation for AIRBUS by introducing new components and technologies and adapting current tools and means.
·  You might be required to support test means development or evolution on the Filton, Bremen or Toulouse sites.

Required skills

What do you bring?

·  University degree in system design, engineering or equivalent
·  Solid working experience in project management is required (ideally in project leading)
·  Several years of working experience in system design with a global technical approach
·  Experience in designing test modules, as well as an ability to produce innovations in the area of digitalisation are needed
·  Basic knowledge of IT network
·  Knowledge of software development and integration basics to be able to deal with specifications
·  Open-minded and willingness to work in a multicultural team
·  Ability to listen to needs and requirements
·  Team-oriented working
·  A negotiation level of English and German is required

This role will involve frequent business travels (approx. three days per months in Europe, mainly to France and UK), and as such, you should be able to travel accordingly.
