Description of the job

A vacancy for a Operational / System Architect (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching.

Airbus Defence and Space R&D activities in civil or military unmanned flight have made the site a renowned German centre for the development of unmanned aerial systems, such as the Barracuda technology test bed, and innovative demonstrators like the QuadCruiser. Work carried out at Getafe and Seville includes that on Eurofighters, A400M, MRTTs (Multi Role Tanker Transport) and the Future Combat Air System.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
¤ Identification of relevant solutions in an iterative process in close interaction with relevant stakeholders in centre of competences and internal and external partners & customers
¤ Support of analysis of military operational requirements and translation into technical requirements for future systems
¤ Management of little work packages and projects with respect to time, quality and cost
¤ Evaluation of new technologies with respect to usability in our concepts and identification of key technologies
¤ Creation of technical documentation and specifications
¤ Performing studies and presentation of results and concepts for internal and external stakeholders

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

¤ You are educated to a degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
¤ You have gained first experience in Engineering and Project Management i.e. within internships or as a working student
¤ You have programming skills like C++ and/or FORTRAN and scripting e.g. Python
¤ You are creative and you like to work in an international team
¤ You are able to tackle problems by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach
¤ Your English is fluent, verbally and written
¤ Other language skills like German and/or Spanish and/or French would be a plus
