Description of the job

An exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security 1st line Analyst has arisen for a within Airbus Cyber Security in Newport, South Wales.

This is a new position because of the expansion of the Security Operations Centre and will report directly to the Lead Cyber Security Analyst under the guidance of the Dep SOC Manager.

The role covers internal and external clients and requires working closely with other departments such as our customers SPOCs, Airbus Design and Implementation Engineering, Network Operations, Service Delivery and Service Design Teams.

Every day will be different and challenging.

Airbus are looking for someone with 0-2 years of experience in a Cyber Analyst role. They need to be keen and enthusiastic to learn. Training will be provided, where appropriate covering a wide range of 1st Line SOC skills.

Tasks & accountabilities

• Perform initial triage/identification of ‘Events of Interest’ using the SOC toolset
• Ensure that all events, events of interest, exceptions and incidents are responded to in accordance with established SOC work instructions, including remedial action/recommendations.
• Provide basic Event and Log analysis to support SOC services
• Maintain currency in security concepts, tools and best practices
• Produce reports (as per templates) & vulnerability/trending analysis as requested by UK SOC Mgr or key stakeholders.
• Present & review reports to internal & external key stakeholders.
• Ensure all Work Instructions and Processes are reviewed and remain current.
• Monitor and complete Phishing Email investigations to assist with SpamBin activity.

Required skills

• Complete work within the time-frames provided
• Experience working in high pressure environments
• Some Cyber technical background would be useful but not essential
• Some Networking knowledge would be advantageous, but not essential
• Some Cyber Security knowledge would be advantageous
