Description of the job

Airbus Safran Launchers (Les Mureaux) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

For the development of flight software for space launch vehicles, a dashboard must be set up to monitor the progress of the various activities in the development cycle, specification/design/coding/unit tests/integration/validation and all the associated verifications. Steering a software project for a space launch vehicle is complex: the development team is large, the technical scope is considerable, the quantity of documents, source files and product tests is large. Effective project steering requires a fairly accurate evaluation of the actual progress of work, quality of production and productivity of the team, problems encountered and risks.

Within the team in charge of Ariane 5/6 flight software development, you will have the opportunity of acquiring skills related to the entire development process for critical software, project steering, data management and utilisation.

This internship will start on 1st February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

In this internship, your objective will be to produce project indicators regularly and automatically. These indicators will be determined on the basis of information mainly extracted from product data available in configuration management, from the project technical event database and the follow-up database of tasks to be performed.

You will generate indicators for (non-exhaustive list):

·  Rates and types of anomalies
·  Average productivity by activity
·  Maturity of requirements
·  Progress/outstanding work by activity
·  Budget with respect to actual consumption
·  Human resource skill levels by activity.

Your internship will have several stages:

·  Analysing the steering needs and identifying indicators
·  Analysing the available data
·  Producing a specification for tools used to extract information and generate indicators with display of their changes over time in graphic form
·  Producing a mock-up for these tools.

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a Master's degree or in the 5th year of an engineering school, specialising in IT/Software.

You ideally have some initial experience.

You have the following skills:

·  Knowledge of Java, Perl and UML programming languages
·  Linux/Windows environments.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: intermediate level
French: fluent.
