Description of the job

An internship position in Project Management Support - Subcontracting Management (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse. You will join the Pylon Transverse Engineering department.
This department is in charge of:

·  Design,
·  Support to production (solutions proposed in case of production deviation with respect to plan definitions)
·  And the maintenance of the in-service fleet (solutions and calculations of repairs during in-service incidents [impact on the engine fairing during a maintenance intervention, etc.) on engine pylons.

The engine pylon is an aircraft component that allows the support of the engine under the wings without there being any disruption of one or the other, guarantees the aerodynamics of the area, but also circulates within it all the vital systems of the aircraft (fuel, electricity, hydraulics, air conditioning, etc.)

In this context, you will be involve in the support of engineering subcontracting project management for the E2S (company based in Toulouse) and offshore (Airbus Group Design Office located in China) parts for all A320, A330/340, A380, A400M, A380 and A350XWB projects
This internship will start in January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Within the department, your activities will include:
1 Analysing:
1.1 Analysing the As-Is state by performing audits on the current processes,
1.2 Proposing optimisation solutions for processes and costs,
2 Contributing to:
2.1 Supporting the harmonisation of processes and tools between Airbus teams and various suppliers (French and Chinese),
2.2 Supporting their implementation internally and externally to Airbus,
2.3 Participating in the change process (meetings, awareness sessions, communications, etc.)
3 Developing:
3.1 Follow-up tools (Excel and/or databases (e.g. Access), etc.),
3.2 Information/contractual data exchange sites using already existing Airbus tools: Storage inventory + I-Share/HUB [Microsoft SharePoint solution],
3.3 Gateways between various tools in order to automate as much as possible the transfer of data,
3.4 Allowing:
3.4.1 The creation of automatic reports, to supply project management control
3.4.2 The consolidation of the cross-checking of data providing from various tools and aircraft programmes,
4 Writing:
4.1 technical specifications of the developed tools,
4.2 maintenance processes of tools/sites/I-share developed during the internship period,
5 Reporting:
5.1 Project progress report to the internship tutor,
5.2 Identifying the risks and opportunities related to projects.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  in the 2nd year of a Master's degree or in the 5th year of university or engineering school,
·  initial experience/good knowledge in project management,
·  good knowledge in Java, C++ and/or VBA programming,
·  strong interpersonal skills,
·  team player,
·  customer oriented,
·  advanced level of English; proficiency in French would be a plus.
