Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Toulouse) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

The world of communications satellites is undergoing a revolution: Satellite operators demand a step change in satellite data capacity to compete with terrestrial data networks. It is therefore necessary to develop novel payload technologies and architectures. Some of the most promising architectures employ active phased array antennas, to allow both flexibility and capacity. Such an approach permits a very diverse range of architectures, which need to be evaluated numerically.

The purpose of your internship is to develop simulation tools to predict the overall payload performance. The modelling will include beam forming networks, amplifiers, and phased array antenna geometries. Several miniature research projects are envisaged and you will be encouraged to use their creativity to suggest future research orientations.
You will work in the Advanced Payload Products Team and will interact with both technical specialists from several international sites and commercial entities.

This internship will start on 1st February 2017 (subject to some flexibility).
