Description of the job

An internship position in Modelling of Satellite Emission/Reception Chains (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space at its Toulouse site.

This internship will take place in the Airbus Defence and Space Toulouse Electrical Engineering department.

The objective of this internship is to model and validate emission and reception chains of the TMI (telemetry image) type for RF links.

This internship will start on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility) for a period of approximately 6 months.

Tasks & accountabilities

The main activities to be carried out will include:

·  Resuming the development of a RF transmission/reception chain model using MATLAB/SIMULINK for various types of modulation (QPSK, 8PSK, 16APSK, etc.). The elements to be modelled include: coder/decoder, modulator/demodulator, amplifier, filters, etc. and their associated imperfections.
·  Analysing performances, studying quality losses in accordance with equipment characteristics, tracing the emission spectrum, etc.
·  Validating against theory and a measurement database

Required skills

·  You are currently enrolled in the final year of engineering school or equivalent (5-year degree), specialising in Electronics with a focus on RF, and/or Telecommunication,
·  Knowledge of RF techniques (antennas, receivers, transmitters, etc.) and transmission (modulation, links budgers, etc.)
·  Good knowledge of simulation tools: Matlab, CST,
·  Practical experience with electrical measures and RF,
·  Proficient user of the MS Office suite (Macro, Excel),
·  Technical meticulousness, independent nature and interest in teamwork,
·  An advanced level of English.
