Description of the job

Airbus (Toulouse) is looking for an intern for a 3 to 5-month internship.

Weight is one of the predominant factors in aircraft performance and therefore in the ability to make a product which meets customer needs as closely as possible.
However, it is very difficult to achieve a good level of accuracy when estimating weight in the preliminary design phase.

This internship will start on 3rd April 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

In the context of weight study activities for future aircraft, your tasks will include:

·  Producing parametric weight studies for aircraft in the Airbus family (Single Aisle, A330, A350, A380)
·  Developing weight estimation methods for the aircraft centre section
·  Applying these methods to a parametric study (change in geometry, new characteristic weights, new engines).

One of the main advantages of this internship is the opportunity to work on aircraft in the preliminary design phase.

Required skills

You are in the final year of engineering school or a Master's degree or in the 5th year of university, specialising in Engineering/General Engineering.

You ideally have some initial experience.

You have knowledge in:

·  Knowledge in VBA and/or programming in Matlab and/or automation in Excel required.

You are curious and willing to learn.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

English: Advanced level
French: Fluent.
