Description of the job

Airbus Toulouse is looking for an intern for 6-month internship.

In the frame of ground power supply standardization and due to new Aircraft type, Airbus has to update grand power supply standard. Objective is to ensure compatibility with all Airbus Aircraft (Long Range, Short Range, A380, A350, etc.) and all kind of Ground Power Unit (GPU) available in airports over the world.

The finality is to define requirements to ensure the compatibility for existing GPU but also for new products. These requirements shall take into account all GPU characteristics, all protections implemented in different Airbus A/C type but also all Airbus internal design directive such as ABD100 1.8.

To do that, several tasks have been already done:

·  Compare all Aircraft External power protection for Airbus AirCraft (A/C) Family,
·  Verify compatibility with Ground Power Unit protection as per ISO or SAE standard.

This internship will start on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

You main missions will include:

·  Defining generic requirements (if possible). These requirements shall take into account all Airbus general design directive such as ABD100,
·  Verifying compatibility with A/C electrical protection as derived in the new ISO issue and ABD100 1.8 directive,
·  Validating some A/C behavior by simulation (SABER).

Some tests on Aircraft could be required for validation Outputs: Airbus internal guideline document for all Ground power protection is the output of the training (based on recommendations).
This Guideline could be an input for new ISO6858 issue.

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a master's or the 5th year of engineering school, university or equivalent specialising in Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Electrotechnic.

You ideally have an experience in:

·  Aircraft power supply principle and protection associated,
·  Aircraft maintenance procedure and dispatch.

You are a strong team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.
You have knowledge of:

·  Office package,
·  SABER.

English: advanced level,
French: advanced level.
