Description of the job

Airbus Toulouse is looking for an intern for a 5 to 6-month internship.

This internship will start on 5th March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

The “Optimisation and Telecom Payload Management Products” centre develops software products for the dimensioning and operation of telecom satellite payloads. Among these products, the team is developing a software suite used to specify, dimension and define the manufacturing dossier for the electrical section of the satellites.

The aim of this internship is to develop a database management tool containing all the information on the electrical components and their assembly procedures. This tool shall make it possible to carry out quick data searches using a graphic interface.

This will involve:

·  Understanding the technical needs and fields,
·  Understanding the needs of the team and its products,
·  Studying the technologies available (Internal tools, Java, JavaFX, Access, MySQL, etc.) with support from the team,
·  Proposing a solution with respect to these needs and technological opportunities,
·  Scheduling, designing and then developing a tool based on the adopted technologies,
·  Proposing new applications for this tool.

This internship will give you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the space environment. You will be fully integrated within the AIRBUS Defence and Space development team and will work in accordance with the approach for configuration management, quality, automated tests and continuous integration of the team.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  2nd year of a Master's degree or the 5th year of engineering school or university, specialising in Information Technology,
·  Good knowledge and/or experience in IT development using Java, Eclipse and MySQL
·  Skills in component and object-oriented architecture
·  Knowledge of the Junit, Maven, Git and/or Access tools would be a plus, as well as Design patterns
·  Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills.
·  Synthesising skills, inquisitiveness and creativity
·  intermediate level of English and French
