Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Toulouse) is looking for an intern for a 6 month internship.

The Eurostar E3000 telecommunications platform has proven its performances and reliability with more than 100 years of cumulated flight time. In the frame of NEOSAT program, the Eurostar Neo platform aims at going further in terms of performance and payload flexibility.
This induces a number of new technical challenges at global AOCS architecture, to prepare the final development, always with the same objective: to reach the best AOCS performances while respecting the system constraints.

This internship will start on 1st February 2017 or on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

In this frame, you will start by reviewing the available technics for AOCS control and then propose adapted solutions for the different mission phases of Eurostar Neo. You will then implement and assess the performances of the most promising ones, under Matlab/Simulink.

Finally, you will identify the strength and the weakness of the proposed operations up to reach a solution mature enough to be adopted for the platform.

You will work within the AOCS studies department for programs under development, in close relationship with the AOCS team in charge of Geostationary activities.

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a master's or the 5th year of engineering school, university or equivalent specialising in Aerospace Engineering.

You ideally have an initial experience in this domain and you have competencies in dynamics of the satellites and general mechanical engineering.

You have a good knowledge of:

·  Matlab and Simulink,
·  Signal processing, Control systems.

A knowledge of Spacecraft dynamics and space environment would be a plus.

You are a strong team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: negotiation level,
French: negotiation level.
