Description of the job

Airbus Helicopters (Marignane) is looking for an intern (m/f) for a 6-month internship.

Within Airbus Helicopters, the world's top helicopter manufacturer, you will take part in the design of the next generation of embedded networks.
Networks, in particular wireless networks (e.g. Wi-Fi), are an essential component of future helicopters, and their control is complex: a strong influence on the environment, numerous parameters, security issues, the configuration and performance of interfaces and antennas, etc.

In order to better control the implementation of these technologies and to be able to guarantee their performance level, Airbus Helicopters must adopt IT tools to:

·  measure the characteristics of a link between 2 network nodes,
·  test network interfaces of equipment,
·  Test/diagnose network equipment.

This internship will start on 1st March 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Within this context, your tasks will include:

·  Identifying needs for tests and testing tools
·  Defining tests and tools that meet the needs
·  Taking over the framework of an existing test tool in the department
·  Developing the necessary tools
·  Implementing the tests within the framework
·  Testing and validating the tests on a mock-up.

Required skills

You are in the final year of an engineering school, university or equivalent (5-year degree), specialising in IT, networks, Ethernet, Wi-Fi.

You ideally have initial experience in this field.

You are familiar with the Linux environment.

You have knowledge in:

·  Software development: Bash, Lua, Python, C scripts
·  Wi-Fi/Ethernet/IP/TCP/UDP
·  Network test tools

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: advanced level,
French: fluent.
