Internship / Control Laws sensitivity studies to A/C parameters (m/f)

Airbus Toulouse

Airbus Group is a global leader in aeronautics, space and related services. In 2015, the Group - comprising Airbus, Airbus Defence and Space and Airbus Helicopters - generated revenues of € 64.5 billion and employed a workforce of around 136,600.

Our people work with passion and determination to make the world a more connected, safer and smarter place. Taking pride in our work, we draw on each other's expertise and experience to achieve excellence. Our diversity and teamwork culture propel us to accomplish the extraordinary - on the ground, in the sky and in space.

Description of the job

Airbus Toulouse is looking for an intern for 6-month internship.

Based on a new design principle of Flight control Laws, called "By-equation" laws approach, on automatic pilot, the objective of your internship is to perform a parametric sensitivity study of the Laws results (gains,...) with various input parameters changes (Aerodynamics coefficient).

Depending of the scope of the analysis and supported by the Flight Control Laws expert, the topic of your internship may vary, from a very wide parametric study, to maybe a more focused one on just a sub-part.

It could also comprise the design of offline-computer Tools to support the design and validation of "by-equations" laws, like visualization of graphics showing the continuity of the laws results.

This internship will start on 3rd April 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

·  acquiring knowledge of the "by-equation" design principles (which is Airbus internal knowledge),
·  seeing how it is applied on A350,
·  grasping the way to characterize and visualize Laws results,
·  finally getting the results for varying laws parameters.

This internship will give you an opportunity to discover the whole scope of Airbus flight control (and automatic laws in particular), on various aircraft, all along the industrial activities needed to make such concept fly.

Required skills

You are in the 2nd year of a master's or the 5th year of engineering school, university or equivalent specialising in Avionics Engineering.

You ideally have an initial experience and you have competencies in automatic control of systems, simulation environment (Matlab, Simulink, simulation Framework) and a sense of Aircraft behavior and control.

You are recognized as autonomous and pro-active.
