Description of the job

Airbus Defence and Space (Elancourt) is looking for an intern for a 6-month internship.

You will join a development team whose mission is twofold. On the one hand, the creation of an analyst tool for geospatial data exploitation which includes images, video, GMTI, etc. On the other hand, the creation of a data management service for these data. Our department intends to analyze and prototype a thin client version of an analyst tool currently in action as a thick client software, relative to the data management service.
This thin client system will offer a subset of functionalities to address the most current use cases, while offering an optimization adapted to thin client usage.

This internship will start on 02nd January 2017 (subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

You will have the following missions:

·  Creating a condition report of the existing situation,
·  Identifying which use cases will be included or excluded from the thin client application, permitting an optimization by decreasing order of importance: ergonomics, performance and functional coverage,
·  Identifying the technologies and software components which lead to the realization of a thin client for displaying geospatial data (images, video, and GMTI), inputting graphical annotations, and creating reports,
·  Proposing an architecture which best complies with the data management service,
·  Prototyping the solution specified on the subsection of representative functions.

Required skills

You are in the 1st or final year of a Master's degree, or of in the 2nd or final year an Engineering school, specialising in Information Technology / Software development.

You should ideally have previous web application development experience and have knowledge of:

·  Java Development,
·  Web Technologies and Web Services
·  XML Technologies,
·  Geospatial analysis.

You are a good team player and have excellent interpersonal skills.

English: Advanced level,
French: fluent level.
