Description of the job

A vacancy for an internship in Aeronautical engineering – data analytics deployment definition has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.

You will join the Aircraft Operability and Design Maturity (EIO) department.

This department works on transversal Architecture & Integration disciplines and is responsible for influencing and reinforcing the development of all Airbus Products (Physical, Systems, Support & Services) to achieve the Operability Performances along aircraft life cycle and Service Readiness at Entry into Service.

The domain is ensuring:

·  Integration of Operability aspects within the Lifecycle of the new Airbus aircraft evolution,
·  Achievement of expected and contractual guaranteed performance technically and economically in terms of usability, maintainability, availability, maturity and cost,
·  Support the Airbus Business with the enabling means and knowledge to influence the achievement of the product Aircraft Operability and Design Maturity performance.

In the context of studies associated with the use of data analytics/big data techniques for the Aircraft Operability and Design Maturity department, you will be responsible for supporting the digitalisation strategy of the department and the definition of associated policies.

This internship will start in March 2017(subject to some flexibility).

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main missions will involve:

·  Identifying the needs/opportunities within the EIO activities,
·  Mapping the current activities linked to the digitalisation in the department as well as outside the EIO,
·  Defining the digitalisation strategy for EIO,
·  Identifying the list of priority initiatives to be launched, the roadmap to prepare their industrialization, the development plan and the make or buy policy.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  In a 2nd year of a Master's degree or in the 5th year of university or engineering school with a specialisation in aeronautical engineering,
·  Strong interest in data analytics, Big data and digitalisation,
·  Ideally, some knowledge in aircraft operations and maintenance,
·  Good communications skills,
·  Team player,
·  Advanced level of English.
