We are looking for motivated students to join our teams at Airbus Commercial Aircraft or Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse area.

An internship vacancy titled: “Robotics & innovation (M/F)” has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.

The internship position will be hosted in the CTO organisation, XTC, Emerging Technologies & Concepts, part of the Airbus R&T group. Our goal is to explore new technologies and accelerate their potential implementation on Airbus products. Our mission is to incubate, accelerate and elevate technology through fast prototyping.
ProtoSpace is a mean supporting this organisation, equivalent to a FabLab within Airbus. Airbus has 10 ProtoSpace, including one in Toulouse where the internship will be hosted.

The internship will start from April 2019 (date subject to some flexibility) and its duration is 4 to 6 months.

Tasks & accountabilities

You will be in charge of developing proof of concept in the field of drones and robotics with application in the Airbus final assembly line.

The intent is to develop a prototype of drone within the ProtoSpace facilities from mechanical design to the programming of the robot, in collaboration with internal team.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

Above all, you must be highly interested in digital transformation challenges.
In terms of education, you are currently enrolled in a master in Engineering.

- Skills in programming but also in mechanics, electronics, electrics, sensing.
- a strong mindset for programming (The programming language selection is open)

- Judgment & decision making, autonomy.
- Communication skills are also key as you will have to make the best use of the existing initiative within Airbus and because you will have to explain concepts or programming issues to non-specialists.
- Pragmatic approach and deliver running product, in a FabLab spirit.

- English : advanced/Negotiation
- Spanish is a plus.
