An internship vacancy titled: “Data analytics on cost of avionics product (M/F)” has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.

The knowledge and the challenge of the cost are strategic. It is considered as one of major contributors of Airbus industrial performance.
System cost estimator is a cornerstone to improve the techno-economic performance of the system and its equipment. For that he/she has to collaborate in an open minded spirit within a multifunctional team to support decision making (technical trade off, suppliers’ negotiation or business case figures).
Today, cost engineering is moving toward digital costing for better efficiency, reliability and accuracy. It allows cost system estimator to focus on higher added values activities by making speak the figures.
One of the digital costing pillars is BIG DATA, which uses data in order to be able to predict massive cost estimations. In this context, data analytics skills are required to convert massive available data into useful knowledge by analyzing, wrangling, cleaning and visualizing conclusions. This digital approach will allow Airbus to take data driven decisions.

Today all historical performed quotations are stored in a database called GECO and this data can be used in order to quickly predict new quotations.

The internships will start from January 2018 (date subject to some flexibility) and are for a duration of 4 to 6 months.
