Our diversity and teamwork culture propel us to accomplish the extraordinary - on the ground, in the sky and in space.

Description of the job

Within the "Control Ground Segment Chain" cluster, the training course will consist of modelling a CGS Constellation (Control Ground Segment, i. e. the hardware and software platform used to monitor and control one or more satellites on the ground) through different approaches: Business Case, Applicatif (SW), Hardware (HW), IT flows of exchanges within the control centre.
A project to model a control centre (CGS) was already carried out in 2017 on a single-satellite perimeter. The course will therefore focus on analysing the impacts of managing a constellation and extending existing modelling to a multi-satellite context (fleet and/or constellation).
The modeling is carried out using the MEGA tool and the MEGSYCO methodology.
The objective of this modeling is to be able to carry out automatic analyses of performance, reliability and to share an architecture support common to the different trades (architects, developers, integrators,...)
This internship will be held within the framework of a programme currently under development and will therefore be rapidly implemented.

This 6 Month internship will start from February 2018 (Date subject to some flexibility).
This position requires a security clearance or eligibility for clearance by recognized authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

·  On the basis of work already in progress, the trainee will first have to understand the changes necessary to bring to a single-satellite CGS in order to be able to operate a fleet of satellites
·  Based on the existing model, the trainee will then have to model the extensions/modifications to be made to a single-satellite control centre (thanks to the MEGA tool and based on the MEGSYCO methodology).
·  The aim of the study will be to analyse the potential gains for the different actors (project manager, architect, integrator, etc.) thanks to the modules capable of exploiting modelling.

Required skills

·  Architecture of computer systems (HW and SW)
·  Modelling
·  Knowledge of space systems
