As an Information System Architect, you will be working with the Engineering solutions architecture team, of 6, specializing in the information systems for the engineering of Airbus Defence & Space products. We are at the crossroad of enterprise architecture, innovations groups and the engineering business. We take care of the compliance to the security governance to protect Airbus Defence and Space know-how. We ensure to find the best solution to meet the requirements, functional and non-functional.

You'll know about products engineering and foresee the next generation of information system that will bring the engineering practices to a new era. This role will suit someone from an Engineering background who is a current Architect or who has design and architectural duties and is looking for the next step.

This role will involve some travel for business (5 times a year in Europe) and as such you must be able to travel accordingly

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.

Desired profile

Tasks & accountabilities

¤ Participates in all phases of the system development life cycle including research and design, development, testing, implementation and support
¤ Capture and analyse functional and non-functional requirements
¤ Design the corresponding architecture, following the enterprise architecture guidelines and security principles
¤ Define models, including solution patterns, to guide solution decisions. Define policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the organization. Evangelise architecture practices
¤ Aligns architecture strategy with the organization's business goals and long- term strategic planning for the organization's Information systems
¤ Actively and efficiently collaborate with Enterprise architecture, Security, Infrastructure, Innovations and technology experts teams to deliver the highest quality solutions via cutting edge technologies

Required skills

¤ Background within the Engineering industry
¤ Knowledge and experience in big data, data lakes, data analytics, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence
¤ Knowledge of the engineering processes: Physical Design, Functional and software design, system engineering or configuration management
¤ Communication skills and ability to work within a team (with colleagues from Germany, France, UK and Spain)

Any experience in the following would be an advantage, but NOT essential as training will be provided:
¤ Project management / coordination
¤ An interest and willingness to learn big data, data analytics or artificial intelligence (AI)
¤ Architecture knowledge of Product lifecycle management (PLM) or Application lifecycle management (ALM) or System Engineering
¤ TOGAF certification or equivalent, alternatively experience in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
