This finance internship is based in Stevenage working in the finance department of the Secure Communications division of Airbus Defence and Space.

Secure Communications provides global fixed and military satellite communication services and solutions for Military, Government and Civilian organisations. This finance department oversees a wide breadth of finance activities from maintaining its purchase and sales ledgers and cash books, controlling the services of the division through margin control and in-depth analysis, infrastructure utilisation through to the preparation of monthly management accounts, VAT reports, budgeting and forecasting.

The successful candidate will therefore gain exposure to many different elements of Accounting during this 12 month internship.

Tasks:

During this internship, the activities you may undertake will include;

·  Purchase and sales ledger
·  Financial reporting
·  Management accounting

In addition, you will gain an understanding of budgets, forecasting, corporation tax and VAT.

Our Internships are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate currently studying towards a degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics or related subject.

In addition, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;

·  An interest in pursuing a career within Accounting
·  Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Excel
·  The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
·  Good written and verbal communication skills
·  An understanding of the fundamentals of accounting is advantageous
