The programme line Secure Land Communications (SLC) at Airbus Defence and Space develops, installs and maintains professional and land mobile radio (PMR/LMR) networks based on Tetra, Tetrapol and P25 technologies and offers a wide range of radio solutions and devices for customers worldwide. Description of the job

A vacancy for an Industrial Buyer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space SLC in Elancourt. You will join the Demand and Supply team.
Your mission will be to secure product supply against customer demand by raising Purchase Orders (PO) based on Sales Orders (SO) and customer forecasts. You will be responsible for ensuring material availability for deliveries by purchasing and stock management.
In this role, you will have to ensure manufacturability and reparability of the products sold to customer against the short/mid term demand and over the long term maintenance contracts. You will have to analyze information received on EOL materials from the several external and internal sources and to secure/balance it against foreseen demand and report the availability and stock statuses. You will have to raise purchase orders of the materials according to the actual needs and follow up supplier performance.

You will report to the Demand and Supply Team Leader.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:
1. End of Life material management

·  Monitoring that the EOL material process steps are done in time to secure product availability.
·  Building up analysis for End of Life (EOL) material replacement or Last Buy decision making.
·  Launching procurement actions to cover the medium and long term demand unless the replacement/redesign solution is not found.
·  Participating to the new product development projects providing EOL component analysis.
·  Monitoring the EOL component availability and supplier capability and performance against the foreseen demand provided by customer projects
·  Maintaining current EOL management tool; proposing further improvement / development in case of need identified.

2. Managing stocks

·  Following stocks and reporting. Making physical inventories and corrective actions.
·  Managing different stocks/inventories in relation with demand balancing with lead time (Buffer, EOL, Excess stock etc).
·  Monitoring EOL components stocks, and reporting the stock status frequently.
·  Securing the correct physical storage conditions and process.
·  Identifying potential excess and obsolescence risks on all existing stocks.
·  Local warehouse management (receipt/delivery / transfer)

3. Managing supply and co-operation with suppliers

·  Placing and following PO's on right time, price, quality and quantity.
·  Monitoring supplier performance, constraints and problem solving. Escalating when necessary.
·  Supporting sourcing in setup and follow-up of suppliers.
·  Participating to the Demand and Supply team forecasting and purchasing activities.
·  Checking supplier invoices and sending for approval
·  Handling supplier claims
·  Managing the daily relationships with suppliers

4. Managing relationship with the internal customers and interest groups

·  Delivery availability requests for lead time, providing feedback for inquiries.
·  Monitoring order status actively and informing relevant parties of any changes
·  Acquiring information about product changes (new products, phase outs, EOL) to anticipate the changes for purchasing.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Engineering degree (or equivalent) specializing in procurement, Supply Chain, or electronics
·  Confirmed experience in an industrial environment, as buyer or in Procurement, sourcing, supplier management
·  Experience of Supplier relationship management
·  Technical knowledge of electronics: electronic components design and functionalities
·  Experience of using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP
·  Good Knowledge of office tools, especially excel
·  Autonomy, decision making and problem solving, Analytical mindset, communication skills and team spirit
·  French: negotiation level
·  English: advanced level
