Description of the job

A vacancy for a Flight Dynamics Simulation Manager for LR (Long Range) NEO Program (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Toulouse.

You will join the department "Flight Dynamics Simulation" in charge of delivering:

·  Integrated Flight Dynamics Models (pre-flight and adjusted from Flight Tests),
·  Simulation Means for Handling Quality assessment and certification,
·  Validation Data for Pilots Training Simulators Qualification, and all their associated documentation.

Its main final customers are:

·  Aircraft stability and control process (Flight Control design and certification),
·  Test Means process (real time integration simulator and other platforms),
·  Training Centres (for pilots training).

Profil recherché

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Setting up an A/C simulation environment matching real Aircraft Flight Dynamics along the LR NEO Program lifecycle, built with the Natural flight loop (A/C physics models) and system models (engines, flight controls, sensors, actuators, braking, steering…),
·  Building, validating and delivering Natural flight loop macro model for Handling Qualities Simulation Platforms and Pilot Training Simulators,
·  Ensuring consistency of Handling Quality simulation platforms across Airbus and finally their fidelity versus A/C Flight tests,
·  Securing accurate and consistent simulation platforms availability to produce validation data for Pilots Training Simulators Qualification,
·  Preparing the future for next A/C development, contributing to major initiatives that aim at reinforcing overall A/C validation & verification thanks to simulation: Model Based System Engineering, integrated V&V in closed loop, centralized role for simulation integration within Flight Physics.

This role is an opportunity to develop flight physics knowledge (aerodynamics, engines...) and systems knowledge (autopilot, sensors, actuators...) thanks to close cooperation with other centers (mainly Systems, Powerplant, Landing Gears, Flight Tests...).

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

·  Educated to a 5 years-degree in Engineering,
·  At least 3 years-experience in Simulation Platform integration and Modelling,
·  Proven experience in A/C Flight Dynamics is key,
·  Project management would be a plus,
·  Good communication skills, customer oriented (Airbus internal customer) and customer support,
·  Team spirit and ability to work with many interfaces from various business functions,
·  Change and innovation mindset,
·  Communication and ability to focus on what matter most,
·  Negotiation level in English. French (or willingness to learn) would be a plus.
