Description of the job :
A vacancy for a System Engineer (d/f/m) - Eurofighter Mission Support System has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Manching. The successful applicant will join “TEAMG-TL2 - Fighters MPS Solutions”.

Task & accountabilities :
If you are looking for a challenging task in a development team and if you are interested in systems and software design around military aircrafts, you're welcomed to our department.

We developed and maintain Mission Support Systems (MSS) at the airbus-sites Manching (Germany) and Getafe (Spain) for Tornado and Eurofighter. Our MSS enables our customer to prepare their missions including mission planning and flight planning. The system provides interfaces to the airborne platforms and additionally supports the analysis of the missions afterwards. The challenge is to properly analyse the operational requirements for different customers and implement these requirements considering the technical capabilities of our platforms. Our Customer expects high-performance IT-systems driving modern software products that use the full capabilities of our flying platforms that ensure safe operations.

Your main tasks include:
- Take-over of system engineering tasks throughout the life cycle of our development projects, which includes system concept definition, system design, requirements engineering, system test and qualification in an agile approach
- You will be responsible for the scope and quality of the assigned tasks considering all aspects like feasibility, reusability, system optimization, maintainability, safety, technical performance, interface design, risks and opportunities
- You will take part in test definition and test automation on system- and software-Level including test data management
- Ensure transfer of contracted capabilities and Customer requirements into system and product requirements
- Focus on Customer satisfaction and ensure full compliance with valid rules and regulations
- Support to and participate in Customer meetings and workshops
- Foster collaboration within our project team and with involved stakeholders - internal and external
- Actively support the continuous improvements of our products, projects and processes
- Actively support Continuous Software Integration and Verification

Required skills :
- Academic degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, physics or equivalent qualification
- Experience as System/ Software Engineer (preferable in Aeronautics or Defence sector) or equivalent experience
- Profound knowledge in developing avionic and/ or mission support software (civil/ military applications) or equivalent systems are of advantage
- Experience in agile methods like Scrum would be a plus
- Experience in working with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo) and DOORS preferable
- Experience in performing automatic software testing preferable
- Strong team player, independent working method and high quality awareness
- Negotiation level in English is a must, good knowledge of German would be a plus
