Description of the job

A vacancy for a multi-programme Centre Wing Box Stress Engineer (m/f) has arisen within Airbus in Nantes.
The Nantes plant Engineering team is in charge of providing technical support to the plant, whose expertise covers the
manufacturing of both metallic and composite elementary parts, as well as the assembly of a wide range of major constituent
assemblies such as: Centre Wing Box, Air Inlet, Keel Beam, Rudder, Outer Wing Box, for five aircraft programmes (A320, A330,
A380, A400M and A350XWB-900/1000).
The Nantes plant Engineering is accountable for all the engineering deliverables to the plant, and therefore coordinates inputs
from the Toulouse based Design Office to four Component Delivery Teams (CDT).
The Nantes plant Engineering has been undergoing a rapid empowerment process and is looking for engineers eager to boost
their careers by acquiring a unique experience in:
¤ multi-functional team involvement beyond siglum,
¤ supporting key improvement initiatives such as Recurring Cost/Non-Recurring Cost and concessions reduction, and
disturbance eradication to drive plant industrial performance,
¤ exposure to cross-ATA, cross-programmes, cross-skills development opportunities.
The open position is Stress Engineer for legacy programme Centre Wing Boxes.

Profil recherché

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include
¤ Support the plant in the resolution of assembly non-quality crises,
¤ Assess structural salvage (e.g., disposition, acceptance or repair) for non-conformities regarding to primary and secondary
structures,
¤ Provide technical expertise to production and quality representatives in case of Major Events, thus contributing to production
key milestones risk management,
¤ Define and lead or support improvement projects such as Recurring Cost/Non-Recurring Cost reduction, concession reduction,
via strong coordination between Design Office, Manufacturing Engineering, Production and Quality,
¤ Stress validation of structure concessions (T400)
¤ Provide Stress inputs for Design Query Notes,
¤ Support the Continuous Product Development team in the delivery of Plant Improvement Modifications,
¤ Provide technical leadership and advice to the Design and Stress analyst's community (T100, T300) and drive non quality
reduction.
¤ Timely escalate issues to your task team leader
¤ Drive concessions delivery performance via strong focus on priorities and Time To Answer targets,
¤ Identify and implement innovative continuous improvement ideas.
This role will involve a few business travels to Toulouse and Saint Nazaire and as such, you should be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

¤Educated to 5 years degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering
¤You demonstrate at least 5 years' experience in lightweight aeronautical structure analysis and stress
¤You demonstrate a sound Airworthiness Awareness via previous professional experience such as certification
¤Some knowledge of the non-conformity processes would be a plus
¤You have knowledge in configuration management
¤Knowledge and experience Fatigue and tolerance to damage would be a plus
¤knowledge of software Isami would be a plus

¤Ideally, you hold a delegated authority for concession design approval and drawing checking on a similar product
¤ You are able to work in a multi-functional team and to deal with complexity
¤ You are customer-focused and have strong communication skills
¤ You can handle different tasks and work to a tight deadline

¤ English: advanced level
¤ French: advanced level
