Description of the job

A vacancy for an Auto Flight System Designer has arisen within Airbus to be based on the Toulouse site in France. The successful applicant will join the the Auto Flight system department.
In the Aircraft control domain, the Auto Flight system group is in charge to define (in coordination with flight test pilots and other systems) the logics to flight the aircraft in an automatic mode.
The job includes the understanding and the clarification of the high level objectives of a given logic and the definition and the validation of the logic in itself.
In the team, the jobholder will be acting under the supervision of a program team leader that is responsible for the project management aspects of the activity and for the global technical consistency.

Tasks & accountabilities

As the successful candidate your main activities will include:

·  the design of the " new functions and evolutions " of the Auto Flight System.
·  the definition of the interfaces with the related systems / functions such as Navigation / Surveillance / Display / Warnings / Engines ...
·  the contribution to the functional & operational specifications
·  the elaboration of related high level Specifications and low level detailed Specifications
·  the contribution to the Safety related activities
·  the contribution to the Verification and Validation related activities
·  the contribution to the Certification means of compliance dossier preparation

Required skills

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies:

·  Degree in Engineering, specialised in system engineering.
·  An internship or a first experience in the domain (flight warning, auto pilot, etc...) would be apreciated.
·  Flight operations knowledge is required.
·  Abiliy to manage complex algorythms
·  Analytical and synthetical skills
·  A negotiation level of English is required
·  An advanced level of French is required
·  Team spirit
·  Créativity
