Description of the job

A vacancy for Aircraft Electrical Power System Engineer - ATA 24 (m/f) have arisen within Airbus Blagnac.
You will join the SEEA - Avionics & Electrics department based in Toulouse.

Within the context of Airworthiness Authorities regulations and in line with the SEE management policy and procedures, you will provide engineering assistance to the customer, ensuring timely responses with good quality and with on-site assistance where and when necessary. You will monitor in-service events, identifying potential impacts and launching appropriate corrective actions with the relevant Design organisation. You will also ensure the required level of progress and follow-up. You will provide feedback on the in-service experience, maintenance activities and significant issues to management, Design organisation and the vendors.

In order to cope with workload fluctuation within the Avionics and Electrics department, you may support different systems belonging to this department. In this context, you may be requested to work for different groups within SEEA.

You will report to the group manager in a team of engineers responsible for the A/C Electrical Power system and Installation.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

·  Answering all technical queries raised by the Customers within the defined time scale,
·  Analysing all in-service events to identify potential impact (including airworthiness, reliability, cost, etc.), launch and progress all actions necessary to find the cause of the events and initiate/follow-up development of corrective actions or product improvement with the Airbus design organisation and the vendors,
·  Evaluating the cost impact upon the operators of various in-service problems,
·  Providing Customers with relevant technical information using all Customer Services appropriate means or media to improve their ATA Chapter system operation,
·  Providing Customers with in-situ technical assistance for trouble shooting,
·  Providing technical stand-by (AOG) assistance,
·  Providing Engineering support to other Customer Services departments,
·  Ensuring transfer of in-service experience and maintenance activities to the management, to other divisions of Customer Services and Airbus design organisation including vendors,
·  Providing the management with continuous and regular feedback on your activities,
·  Attending technical meetings with Customer engineering and maintenance organisations,
·  Using extensively and properly the relevant tool available (TechRequest, WISECAP, ELIPS etc.) and use systematically its document filing capabilities,
·  Handling complex technical matters with direct impact on safety or economic issues…
·  Acting in an autonomous way without close supervision using their specialist knowledge,
·  Attending international meetings involving international organisations.

Required skills

As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate some of the following competencies & skills:

·  Educated to a 5-year aeronautical engineering degree, specialising in Electrical Power system (or equivalent),
·  Experience in Systems Engineering (ATA 24),
·  Aircraft knowledge with good knowledge of airline operations,
·  Maintenance Manual Knowledge (AMM, TSM and/or ESPM) would be appreciated,
·  Experience in working with extensive and highly-integrated electronic data processing systems,
·  Ability to understand customer needs,
·  Ability to cope with a highly demanding environment,
·  Tenacious and adaptable,
·  Good presentation, coordination and interpersonal skills, skills at dealing with customers, design office vendors and other Airbus departments,
·  English: Advanced level.
