Description of the job

In the frame of Airbus Interiors Services, the Design Office performs developments linked to the conversion of the aircraft for VIP/Airlines application. Part of DO, the Systems Engineering Department is in charge of all types of systems developments required to support the tasks issued by the Design Office.
In a context of strong demand for systems upgrades and connectivity solutions, Airbus Interiors Services is looking for a specialist to reinforce this DO Department.

The successful applicant will report to the DO System Leader & Manager and will work in close collaboration with other engineering (as Technical Manager), procurement, industry and program management services. Furthermore a direct communication with other Airbus Interiors Services departements as office of airworthiness, quality department and outfitting engineering is necessary. He / She will be responsible of the technical development of the complete systems definition/solution in the frame of project / program, cabin warranty and upgrade services, based on a partnership spirit.

Tasks & accountabilities

The job holder contributes to development of Airbus Interiors Services Cabin by:

·  Ensuring technical architecture choices (ATA20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 44, 46, 21, 35, 38 and all aspects of ATA 92).
·  Managing definition and substantiation definition files issuance according to time, cost and quality requirements.
·  Managing deliverables in accordance with aircraft planning, proposing recovery plan if any.
·  Establishing a strong link between Aircraft and Monuments on one hand and between Mechanical Systems and Cabin vendors if any on the other hand to validate all interfaces.
·  Making sure that wire size is compatible with equipment and power network definition.
·  Making sure that Mechanical Design is adequate & respect aircraft rules.
·  Contributing to Ground test and flight test instructions issuance.
·  Carefully identifying and managing blocking issues and provide strong recommendations to vendor managers about maturity gates reached or not.
·  Providing expertise and technical assistance during Working Parties.
·  Coordinating development of work-packages with internal or external suppliers.
·  Making sure that the quality of deliverable is correct based on internal or /and vendors sampling checks.
·  Providing expertise and assistance during test phases.
·  Supporting technically to answer to customer requests.
·  Reporting experience return to continuously improve design on following aircraft.
·  Making sure that design is in line with certification department rules.
·  Making sure that Service Bulletin (SB) is correctly formatted.

In this scope, you will be responsible for:

·  Creating securing and following the systems architectures dedicated to Customized layouts required by the Airbus Interiors Services customers.
·  Managing the DO Systems department tasks required to support the R&D, the conception, the definition files governing the modification, and responsible for the delivery of systems data (including Suppliers technical inputs and wirings, Systems Description and Systems in Monument data) to other industrial actors involved in the program.
·  Writing and/or approving the relevant technical notes and/or documents.
·  Making sure that all Certification Rules relative to the field are respected and building the systems justification dossier.
·  Under the leading of the Electrical Leader and Department Manager, in accordance with Project Management coordinating with the Customer representative and/or Artistic Designer the technical feasibility in its domain, providing expertise and assistance.
·  Ensuring continuous reporting to DO Systems Manager.
·  Providing experience support to Support & Upgrades activities on specific items.

And also can have to:

·  Be able to realize some Mechanical Design adaptations.

And also may be responsible for:

Required skills

As the successful candidate you are able to demonstrate the following skills and competences:

·  AIRBUS aircraft general knowledge,
·  Degree in Electric/Electronics and Aeronautical engineering.
·  Excellent practice of English, both written and spoken,
·  Know how & Experience in Aircraft Systems Engineering, and development of exclusive solutions,
·  Knowledge of standard MS-Office applications,
·  Knowledge of systems architecture and possibly AIRBUS configuration management softwares (AOLS, Taksy, GILDA, etc...) and publications.
·  Knowledge of Mechanical Systems.
·  Understanding of commercial environment and industrial processes.
·  Good sense of teamwork with internal and external entities.
·  Open minded and curious of all brand new technology.
·  Experienced in Suppliers relationship and technical coordination should be a must.
·  Good presentation skills.
·  Systems tests and troubleshooting experience is a must.
·  CATIA knowledge is appreciated.

Specific skills for Connectivity, Communication and Support

·  All Systems Engineering Profil.
·  Good knowledge in Network Architecture & Bus as RS or ARINC.
·  Good knowledge of Mechanical Systems as Routing, Air, Water.
·  Air and Water Flow Calculation.
·  Mechanical Plates and VU Design appreciated.
·  Good knowledge of Aircraft Communication including Satcom as SBB, HF, VHF, UHF, Radio ect…
·  Know how & Experience in Military or Defence communications is a plus.
·  Know-how of Airbus Design Office Documentation.
·  Know-how of Software Loading, Graphics User Interface, Software issues Analysis Reports,
·  Know-how of Catia.
·  Knowledge of Laboratory and Testing Analysis, trouble shooting.
·  Full Understanding and knowledge of Wireless Network.
·  Understanding and knowledge of ABD100, DO160 and DO178.
·  Understanding and knowledge of Bus and Network Analysers and use of debug & bus recording tools….
·  Understanding and knowledge of Service Bulletin.
·  In such Airbus Field world, good knowledge in English.
·  Supplier Follow-Up and Management.
