Description of the job

A vacancy for an A350 System Installation Stress Engineer (m/f) has arisen within the Nose and Center Fuselage team in Airbus Toulouse, France.

This newly created position is an exciting opportunity to influence the future design of the A350 and work on other programs on demand. You will join a dynamic team part of a multi-program plateau involved in a wide range of activities, systems (mechanical and electrical such as e.g. ventilation, fuel, hydraulics, water, flight controls…) and suppliers, from pre-design, development, modification, to manufacturing and in-service support. You will have also the opportunity to work in a multi-cultural and transnational environment which is personally rewarding.

The job will be mainly focused on following activities:

I/ Product improvement:

·  This activity consists in investigating and analyzing new design solutions in order to improve the product focusing on recurring cost and weight saving, robustness and modifications aiming at increasing A/C performance.

II/ Innovation:

·  The objective of this activity is to investigate and implement different innovative technologies and participate to pre-development activities etc…

III/ Stress justification and certification dossier:

·  In the frame of this activity you will be in charge of performing stress analysis to support drawing release, and of producing certification stress dossier.

IV/ Manufacturing and in-service support.

Profil recherché

Tasks & accountabilities

The principle responsibilities of the role can be summarized as follows:

·  Ensuring analytical sizing of metallic parts.
·  Monitoring and supporting Design and Build Supplier for systems installation (providing inputs, including CS25 regulation requirements, choice of stress methods, check and approval of different deliveries).
·  Checking structural analysis reports.
·  Performing preliminary structural analysis of parts.
·  Preparing stress sheets and stress reports for structural components.
·  Providing support to manufacturing for concessions.

This role will involve occasional travel for business.

·  Degree in Mechanical Engineering with proven knowledge of Structure and Stress structure.
·  Experience in Materials Stress (FEM, etc.).
·  Experience in System Installation would be a plus.
·  A first experience working with subcontractors would be an asset.
·  Advanced level of English and French.
·  Good communication and team working skills.
·  Autonomous; analytical and synthesis skills.
