Description of the job

An internship position within Structure Design & Integration Engineering has just opened within Airbus, in Toulouse. The candidate will integrate the ESXW team (Nose and Centre Fuselage) which has a unique positioning by leading activities over three different programs (A330, A400M and A380), bringing diversity in activities ranging from the implementation of military capabilities to serial and in-service aircrafts support, including new developments.

This variety of activities is completed by a diversification policy, ensuring best use of skills & knowledge across the different Airbus programs. This diversification has led to the creation of 'Airlines Services' organization, aiming at developing Engineering aircraft retrofit services (mainly Cabin conversion and connectivity upgrades) in collaboration with Airbus Dept. Upgrade Services (SLU).

Tasks & accountabilities

The Job holder will have the following responsibilities:

- Investigate current retrofit design principles used for mechanical (air, water, oxygen…) & electrical systems installation and structure scope. - Make the advantages & drawbacks of each principle in collaboration with Upgrades Services (SLU)

- Rank the principles and select the ones to be banned or improved

- Propose new principles with the corresponding savings

- Interact with Design Principle experts to validate the new concepts across Fuselage organization

- Create an SSL (Standard Selection List) to guide retrofit designers in their choice

Required skills

- Ability to lead technical activities and to work in an organized manner

- Ability to take responsibility for tasks and to solve them proactively

- Experience or knowledge of aircraft structures and systems installation

- Ability to integrate technical inputs from different sources,

- Capacity to identify priorities and to make decisions/recommendations accordingly

- Good interpersonal skills

- Good communication and IT skills (Pack Office, CATIA)

- Continuous improvement mind set

- French & English languages at negotiation level

4 Month internship will start from April(Date subject to some flexibility).
