Purpose:

Act in a leadership capacity within a distribution centre department to support the North American growth of our brands and participate in the exciting expansion of our DC operations to meet this demand. This vital role connects our processes with our people. Accordingly, DC Supervisors will foster an environment of enthusiasm, action and accountability within their department to promote high levels of productivity and employee engagement while maintaining a safe and respectful workplace.

Key Responsibilities (Functional):

· Maintain a current and thorough understanding of all SOP’s relating to the operation of the department.
· Ensure that all staff are properly trained and supervised in the functions they will be completing during their shift.
· Conduct daily briefing meetings with department staff prior to start of shift to communicate expectations for the work to be completed and any special projects or circumstances they need to be aware of.
· Manage resources through scheduling and approving vacations, reallocating staff to cover absences, reviewing hours, and reporting hours worked for payroll.
· Communicate effectively and manage performance on an individual level with all staff in the department, both informally and formally, using the company-provided resources; including, but not limited to, performance evaluation tools and labour management reporting. Continuously provide balanced feedback though acknowledgement of good performance as well as identifying areas for improvement on an ongoing basis.
· Create a positive and productive work environment that engages and motivates associates.
· Ensure that all required department functions are completed on a timely basis, such that daily business goals and customer requirements are met.
· Provide recommendations for continuous process improvement.
· Utilize lead hands effectively to assist with the efficient and safe operation of the department and to ensure that required administrative tasks are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
· Interact with other DC departments as needed to ensure that communication is timely and relevant and the flow of information between departments meets the needs of all.
· Manage the collection, reporting and required feedback regarding labour management standards.
· Maintain and enforce a safe working environment by following all established health & safety policies and procedures. Abide by Occupational Health & Safety Act safety standards, including reporting and investigation of any/all accidents, injuries, damages and potential threats to safety per company policy.
· Document and review with your
Manager and the onsite
HR Manager any employee conduct problems for possible disciplinary action.
· Act as a change agent in the implementation of new policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance and adoption.
· Other duties as required and directed by your
Manager .

Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

· Strong knowledge of DC operations, including storage methods, powered mobile equipment and material flow.
· Working knowledge of the requirements for the safe operation of powered mobile equipment and conveyor systems.
· Excel, Outlook, Word and working knowledge of WMS principles.
· Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and written.
· The ability to communicate effectively, both on an individual level with team members and across departments within an organization.
· Action oriented, ambitious, motivated, and works with a sense of urgency.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

· Leadership experience of 3 or more years within a large-scale distribution centre.
· High school diploma, or demonstrated equivalent skills obtained through previous work experience.
