Adecco Recruitment are recruiting for on behalf of our client, a Transport Planner to join a successful and growing business in Lancaster that collects and delivers essential products througout the UK. It is an essential requirement that the applicant has planning / routing experience in a similar role and has excellent IT and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work under pressure in a demanding work environment.

This is a full time permanent vacancy working 8am - 8pm / 4 on 4 off

Job Purpose: To ensure the smooth operation of the daily collection and delivery of products from contracted customers and to do so in a way that ensures maximum efficiency

Responsibilities:
▪ Plan and execute a driver rota system that provides the required level of resource
▪ Route the product collections into the most efficient routes whilst working within the constraints given by the customer
▪ Respond to the daily changes inherent with product collection volumes
▪ Ensure that drivers adhere to all relevant procedures with regard to carrying out their duties
▪ Manage product volumes for transhipment and onward movement, liaising with the company reload operation to ensure all reloaded trailers are communicated in a timely manner
▪ Make suitable records where necessary of collections and deliveries
▪ Monitor the performance of drivers to within the company's expectations
▪ Ensure that all activities are carried out within the relevant timescales that ensure adherence to customer standards. This may include such activities as tanker swabbing, operating the companies CIP system, managing the cool chain of product samples on site and checking that tanker are correctly sealed
▪ Liaise with customers on a daily basis, representing the company in a professional manner at all times
