Adecco are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work for a Local Authority in Wandsworth.
MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
WANDSWORTH
FULL TIME - 36 HOURS PER WEEK
TEMP ROLE - 3 MONTHS MINIMUM
£18.41 TO £20.99 PER HOUR PAYE / £23.83 TO £27.17 PER HOUR UMBRELLA
The role of the mechanical maintenance engineer will typically involve the following duties and skills as a minimum:
* Planning, organising, overseeing and managing, scheduled maintenance contracts and projects.
* Responding to reactive maintenance issues in a timely manner.
* Liaising between clients customers and contractors.
* Analysing work sheets and reports and assessing their validity.
* Post inspecting completed works to ensure they are to the correct standard and compliance.
* Supervising contractors and assessing their performance.
* Obtaining specialist information and reports.
* Managing budgets and ensuring value for money.
* Maintaining statistical and financial records.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Creating maintenance procedures.
* Carrying out site visits and surveys.
* Generating condition reports for plant and equipment.
* Providing budget costs and estimates for the replacement of mechanical plant and equipment.
* Chairing and arranging meetings and taking minutes.
* The verification of compliance documents such as Gas safe certificates, Legionella risk assessments and air/water quality reports.
Character requirements.
* An ability to work well under pressure. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Relevant technical knowledge. * Problem-solving skills.
* Efficient and well organised.
* Teamworking skills.
* Ability to use IT systems such as word and excel. * Suitable experience and or qualifications for the role. * A positive and proactive approach with a can do attitude.
