Repair and maintenance of the Police and Crime Commissioner's Assets, building fabric and estate in an efficient, effective and safe manner in accordance with standard operating procedures and associated legislation.

Role outline:

Assist the Building Services Engineer in establishing and maintaining safe working systems and practices to ensure that the Force complies with Health and Safety guidance and legislation.

Diagnose, maintain and service electrical and mechanical plant and equipment as per Construction Operating Manuals and site drawings and as directed by Line Manager

Interpret and complete work instructions and equipment maintenance records, including the requisition of equipment, spare parts and other materials ensuring that appropriate procedures are adhered to.

Maintain and repair a variety of mechanical and electrical systems to a defined schedule or procedure whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Carry out regular inspections of building and plant, monitoring and testing in accordance with legislation and Estates procedures as directed by Line Manager, including fire alarm testing and test relating to the control of legionella. Report any concerns to Line Manager.

Carry out manual tasks such as moving and arranging furniture and lockers within Cheshire Constabulary buildings.

Ensure that all waste types are collected / disposed of in ways which are compliant with Force policies, procedures and legislation.

Carry out Facilities Management tasks as directed by Line Manager and provide resilience, flexibility and site cover as required to ensure Facilities Management services are maintained.

Ensure requests received through the Service Management Tool are actioned, updated and closed in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements.

Role requirements:

·  Must be able to travel with a located area within Cheshire.

·  You may be required n call on a four-week rota basis

·  For the post holders' level of responsibility ensure that all; arrangements, activities, equipment, supervision and staff health, welfare and training are complied with as fully detailed in the Health and Safety Policy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Time served craftsman, Educated to Level 3 of the National Qualifications Framework in an appropriate discipline such as Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or a related building trade.

Must hold a full clean UK driving licence

EXPERIENCE:

Significant post qualification experience gained within a Building & Civil maintenance, Building Mechanical services / maintenance or Building Electrical services / maintenance environment.
