My client based in Consett is looking for a Maintenance Engineer/Fitter to join its expanding business. The candidate will oversee the Preventive Maintenance program for all equipment used in the manufacturing process. They will also be responsible for equipment changeovers, breakdowns & repairs. The role is key to the ongoing production of product. In pro-actively maintaining the production equipment by following the PM schedule and responding re-actively by being on the front line for equipment breakdowns. Ensuring that the manufacturing process across plant is both stable and efficient.

Key Accountability's

·  To ensure Maintenance & Service records are maintained.

·  Carry out planned maintenance on plant & equipment to a high standard.

·  Respond to breakdowns on Production machines.

·  Install and relocate production equipment.

·  Specify & order spare parts.

·  Read Electrical & Mechanical Drawings.

·  Carry out Electrical Fault Finding.

·  Carry out Mechanical Fault finding.

·  Working knowledge of Pneumatic.

·  Familiar with Tool Room Equipment.

·  To advise and suggest improved production methods.

·  Train New Operators on equipment & processes.

·  To monitor and improve the efficient and economical operation of the production processes in conjunction with the Production Engineer.

·  To organise the layout of production facilities in conjunction with the Engineering Team.

To notify the Quality Manager and Manufacturing Manager of any abnormal trends or problems occurring in the manufacturing process
