JOB TITLE: IT Floor Walker (Windows 10)
LOCATION: Kingston upon Thames
PAY RATE: £186 per day (Umbrella)
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 3 months minimum
IR35 STATUS: Inside
The client is upgrading all W7 laptops and desktops to W10. We are also extending the use of mobile equipment and a proportion of users who have previously used desk-based IT will move to laptops or hybrid devices.
We are looking for an experienced and outgoing trainer / floor-walker to support the project team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of dealing with customers and problem solving and show a willingness to learn the customer engagement and management processes.
Candidates need to have advanced IT skills, especially of Windows 10 and the Office 365 suite of applications.
Duties
Floor-walker - on customer site
Supporting customers on the day they receive their new Windows 10 equipment.
Resolving and providing resolution for straightforward user queries and problems.
As required escalating to specialist second line support team by logging a call in the call logging system.
Remote support - over the phone or via Skype for Business
Receiving calls from end users, handling queries and issues in person, over the phone and via Skype
Resolving and providing resolution for straightforward user queries and problems, sign-posting to online training material and peer to peer support community
Maintaining a log of queries and resolutions and populating online Frequently Asked Questions on the peer to peer support community
Creation and maintenance of crib sheets and sign-posting links as appropriate
Skills and experience
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Confident in training a wide range of individuals and small groups of customers, with varying IT skills
Willing and enthusiastic attitude with a focus on supporting customers and delivering great service
Advanced working knowledge of Windows 10 and MS Office 365
Able to use Office 365 for email and meeting scheduling
Experience in working in a busy work environment with multiple concurrent demands
