New Product Development and Food Tech Assistant

The successful candidate will have experience and a suitable degree/qualification in food tech along with a proven track record of food tech, ingredients, nutritional data, and new product development.

You will be an excellent communicator with strong planning skills that will help you be involved in projects from fruition. You must demonstrate competence in the production of technical documentation, including SOPs and Product Specifications documents.

Description

Assist the Technical Manager in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the existing BRC, ISO9001 and FSSC systems
Knowledge of labeling legislation

Create samples and accurate finished product specifications for all products on-site including generation ingredient declarations and nutritional data.
Developing new products taking into account cost, market trends, microbiological hazards, customer profiles, and ease of processing, travel, packaging, and testing.
Complete feasibility and handover documents in a timely and accurate manner.
Coordinate with production and other team members to obtain samples and other essential information for the specifications.
Understand the customer requirement from a brief and create finished product specifications and ensure all specifications are approved and the deadline for submitting specifications are met. This includes direct customer contact and frequent liaison with key business accounts.
Maintenance and log of all specifications and ensure product library and raw material risk assessments and data base is up to date.
Labeling and pack control including approval of packaging and ensuring product compliance
To support the implementation of a new computerised specification and document control system
To assist in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) i.e. internal audits & working instructions.
HACCP Team member ensuring product sign off before launch
