An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Assistant to join a well-established and professional organisation based in Sheffield on a 12 Month Fixed Term Maternity Contract.

The main purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective financial support to the finance team and wider business.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a finance department with responsibility for both sales and purchase ledger.

Experience using Sage 50 or Microsoft Business Dynamics is advantageous.

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include:

·  Ensure prompt and accurate processing of supplier invoices into Sage 50

·  Processing of employee expenses and company credit card returns

·  Completion of weekly payment runs after Management authorisation

·  Proactively dealing with supplier queries

·  Creating and posting Sales invoices to the Sage 50 system

·  Undertake credit control activities, ensuring customers pay on time with proactive notification and chasing up of any arrears, incorporating the allocation of customer cash as it is received to ensure up-to-date reporting

·  Proactively dealing with customer queries while maintaining an excellent level of customer service

·  Provide information and support to the in-house Customer Services team in relation to customer accounts and queries

·  Cashbook reconciliation and posting of bank ledger entries

·  Posting of other transactions through the ledgers

·  Support the Management Accountant as required with the finance departments responsibilities

Person Specification:

·  Able to engage with a wide range of people uses appropriate mediums to communicate in a positive and supportive manner

·  Ability to work independently and resourcefully without close supervision

·  Willingness to be flexible and multi-task as part of a team contributing to a common team goal

·  Strongly motivated to achieve results, with a high degree of professionalism, honesty and integrity

·  Demonstrates experience & skills in accountancy - double entry, ledger management, accounting standards

·  Ability to work toward tight deadlines and to manage priorities, with good personal organisation and time management skills.

This is a full-time opportunity working Monday to Friday
