Position: Coroners Investigating Officer
Location: Surrey
Duration: 3 Months +
We're currently looking for a Coroners Investigating Officer to manage cases allocated to them from referral to an outcome of 100a, 100b, NFA compete and release and close case, and if a case is moved to investigation/Inquest file need to be complete before passing to the next team.
Accountabilities:
· Contribute to the regular monitoring and review of services established to facilitate service improvement.
· Lead small scale projects and review or support more complex projects and reviews to promote engagement within the service area
· Responsible for the service to the bereaved and assisting the Coroner in their investigation of deaths
· Single point of contact for the bereaved for each case you are designated
· Work closely with key stakeholders and partners, such as pathologists and doctors, Trusts to obtain evidence for the coroner.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
· Advanced Vocational Qualification at level 4 and/or relevant professional qualification and specialist experience.
· Sound knowledge of the service/functional area including relevant legislation policies and procedures relating to the service area.
· Experience either within a Coroners, police or legal environment is desirable.
· Proven IT skills and able to use technology to be effective in the role.
· Be comfortable with a working environment where you are dealing with sensitive information, specifically pertaining to the deceased.
