Our client is a local company based in Poole manufacturing and supplying to the advanced composites industry globally. Established in 1982, our client can be found in Formula 1 cars, military applications such as jets and submarines, prestige sports cars, wind turbines, luxury yachts, and orthotic running blades to name just a few applications.

The range of advanced composite materials is fully supported by a team of highly experienced technicians and engineers and we now have a vacancy for a Composite Technician based at our manufacturing centre in Poole, Dorset.

Personal Characteristics:

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and committed - a self-starter - with a high level of integrity. Working well as part of a team, the candidate must possess a willingness to learn and to then put that learning into immediate action.

Experience and qualifications:

GCSE Maths and English and GCSE or equivalent in science / scientific subjects such as Chemistry/Physics/Biology, and an interest in science and engineering is a must! The role is practical and hands-on, in a lab and production environment. The ideal candidate must be able to follow instruction, be responsible with health and safety, and demonstrate integrity as a key part of our clients working culture. Internal training, and external as necessary, will be provided.

Duties:

The role will comprise mainly in assisting running the 2 state-of-the-art Fabric and UD prepreg lines, based at our facility.

Duties will include:

·  Preparing mixes of resin batches.

·  Fabric, paper and poly roll changes.

·  Labelling and packing prepreg rolls.

·  Freezer stock checks.

·  Quality assurance testing of resin and prepreg (DSC and Prepreg Weight Checks).

·  Preparing samples or resin and prepreg for further testing.

·  Adhering to quality and 5S standards.

Training can be given to the right individual.
