Job Description
Position Overview:
Oversees day to day operations of the department, including repairs, alteration, and installation of work for 535 guest rooms, extensive public areas, conference rooms & gym.
Management of the maintenance team including scheduling and planning of projects and daily tasks.
Implementing and monitoring a system of reporting and corrective maintenance.
Effective communication and management of external contractors.
Optimise available resources whilst maintaining the hotel quality to the highest levels.
In charge of yearly maintenance budget and invoicing.
Main responsibilities:
Responsible for the implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance in particular, the sustainable maintenance and the reduction of energy consumption strategy.
Responsible for all plant equipment, FF&E (fixed furniture and equipment), fabric of the building and external areas.
Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on maintenance activities.
Control invoices and external providers’ costs.
You are the Health & Safety Officer for Novotel & Ibis ExCeL
Cover shifts as required including duty manager.
Work Experience
Formal Qualification in Mechanical, HVAC or Electrical or operational experience.
Good written and verbal communication skills (English).
3 years management experience.
H&S trained.
Ability to read & write risk assessments.
Energy management.
Proven experience of project management.
Flexibility to travel and attend regional & UK meetings.
