Job description

Key tasks

• Assist the Sales Team in administrative support.
• Handle telephone calls to take messages, new enquiries, check room availability for both functions and guest rooms.
• To ensure all leads are answered within 24 hours.
• Focus on closing all MICE leads with high revenue and high conversion rates monthly.
• Proficient in the operation of personal computer and Opera Systems.
• Well versed in all aspects of the hotel’s facilities.
• Ensure all typed correspondences are in accordance with Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa.
• Identifying and pursing new business sales opportunities both by use of the company database, networking, B2B opportunities, exhibitions and client entertainment.
• To generate events business from warm business leads and where possible new business contacts through attending face to face sales meetings in order to build lasting friendships.
• To actively convert enquiries into confirmed sales to develop future and repeat business contributing to the profitability of the venue.
• To deliver the brand standards of outstanding customer services whilst ensuring a clear and effective line of communication is maintained within the sales team with the operational team and the rest of the venue
• Ensure all correspondences are effectively copies to all relevant departments and regional office, traces date effectively follow up.
• Conduct site inspection for potential accounts using proactive approaches to potential clients and intermediaries.
• Be accountable for all targets and goals set for area of responsibility.
• To work without constant supervision and willing to work outside the normal with flexible working hours including some evenings and weekends to accommodate business needs.
• Duties assigned by Cluster Director of Sales , Assistant Director of Sales-MICE

Essential and optional requirements

Proven sales experience, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

Previous experience working in the hotel sector

Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level

Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and position them against competitors

Demonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions

Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills

Excellent verbal and written communications skills
