CGI is currently looking to hire a Network Administrator to support an exciting project in the DC metro area.

The Network Administrator will support the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of agency wide-area networks (WANs) and local-area networks (LANs). You will assist in designing and managing the WAN infrastructure and any processes related to the WAN. You will be providing production support of the Network, including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution client Networks. Major emphasis is on monitoring of the data networks services. Provide second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Support the dispatch of circuit and hardware vendors involved in the resolution process. Support the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge in various software systems and architectures, communications protocols and network hardware devices.

Monitoring telecommunications availability
Monitoring of daily data center and network closet environmental factors
Operating and Maintaining Networks
Network monitoring tools and techniques
Installations, upgrades, troubleshooting and configurations
Network system health and availability
Monitoring and coordination of troubleshooting and maintenance of telecommunication’s circuits including DWDM optical circuits
Configuration and maintenance of switch ports
Production of required reports and documentation - Information to report (as applicable)
Significant system activities completed
Project status, risks, and obstacles
Issues, status, and remediation plans
Planned activities including changes

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

2-5 years of experience installing, implementing, troubleshooting and maintaining agency wide-area networks (WANs) and local-area networks (LANs).
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (experience can be substituted in lieu of education)
CCNA Certification required
