PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Product Stewardship Associate will support the product stewardship team in Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division. The successful candidate will work with the product stewardship lead in the development, implementation and management of a product stewardship database to identify requirements for regulatory submissions for a large product portfolio.
Product Stewardship: Is a function within Abbott that manages a wide range of global product safety regulations aimed at eliminating or minimising the impact of harmful chemicals and materials on the environment and on human health. It is an area that is fast becoming integrated into many corporate and regulatory circular economy initiatives. This role would provide the right candidate with an excellent opportunity to develop their skills in the practical development of solutions to advance Abbott's circular economy goals while gaining insight into the development and production of medical devices.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with the product stewardship team and suppliers to collect product stewardship data

Evaluates data based on required attributes and categorise into relevant areas
·
Develops a database for the collection of product stewardship data
·
Complies with Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:
·
Graduate - level in engineering, science, environmental science, regulatory or quality systems or medical device manufacturing disciplines.

Must possess the ability to evaluate varied data such as medical device and chemical product attributes and categorise data appropriately
·
Experience with the use of database development using systems such as Microsoft Access, LINUX or SQL preferable.
