Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) is looking for a

Medical Manager (MD) EMEAP (m/f/d)

based in Wiesbaden, Germany.

As Medical Manager (MD) EMEAP (m/f/d) you support and execute Abbott Diabetes Care's EMEAP medical affairs activities. You interact with key partners of the medical community providing training and scientific advice on the use of existing and new Abbott Diabetes Care monitoring solutions. You serve as a subject-matter expert in medical practice and patient management. Provide medical support for the commercial organization. You give input into the design of local clinical trials that provide meaningful differentiation to ADC products and publish results in cooperation with local KOLs. You establish partnerships/consulting arrangements with key medical leaders in the field of diabetes to support business needs.

Position reports to the Director Medical Affairs EMEAP, interacts closely with in country senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Medical Director in all medical (and clinical, if applicable) affairs work streams, providing input, medical oversight and project leadership. Execute on ADC's activities in training and continuous medical education
  • Partner with global organizations to support and drive global scientific projects. Execute new medical / clinical initiatives targeting the medical community in alliance with global functions
  • Build trusted and strategic relationships with the local medical community in diabetes care: identify partnering opportunities
  • Develop appropriate medical argumentation to support the usage of our products by health care providers in EMEAP
  • Represent ADC interests in regional medical /industry/governmental organizations
  • Have deep understanding and share expert knowledge in HTA (health technology assessment) and EbM (evidence-based medicine) recommendations on Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) and Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)

Qualification:

  • Medical doctor degree with board certification
  • Hands-on experience in the management of patients with diabetes
  • Strong network in the medical and scientific diabetes community in Europe
  • Post-graduate qualification e.g. master's degree in public health, health economics or health policy or comparable executive training is a plus
  • Sense for technology
  • Experience in working with / presenting of scientific data
  • Project management experience
  • Background in evidence-based medicine and / or public and / or competitive effectiveness research
  • Strong scientific foundation
  • Team oriented with the confidence, maturity and integrity to work effectively as a member of one of the top companies in the medical device industry, with customers and suppliers
  • Willing to work in changing matrix teams
  • High personal integrity and ethics required
  • Excellent communication / organization skills required. Comfortable in managing public events and speaking in public
  • Determined and goal-oriented way of working
  • Capable of inspiring others to excellence and accepts the accountability for results of the team and provides clear direction with input from others
  • Fluent in English
  • Travel up to 40%
