Crucially, this is the ideal way for you to gain unrivalled experience designed to lead to exceptional career development opportunities with ABB in Sweden and abroad.
ABB develops and supplies advanced power and automation technologies that enable utility and industry customers to improve operational performance and reduce environmental impact worldwide. The ABB Group of companies operates in 100 countries around the world, and employs some 135,000 people. ABB is a global, multicultural business that is passionate about innovation and technology.

Program description
The program – a vital part of ABB's Leadership Program, which contributes to and develops our business – is composed of three main elements: an initial seven-month period during which you will be based in Västerås, Sweden; followed by two international placements lasting up to a total of 18 months.
During your seven-month placement in Västerås, you will join our local trainee program together with our civil engineering trainees, and take part in field visits to ABB business units, suppliers and clients across Sweden. You will also complete three internships lasting 10 weeks each that involve a variety of activities. This stage of the program will provide you with thorough insights into ABB's organizational structure and operations.
In the second stage of the program, you will complete two international placements, and have the opportunity to meet and interact with global trainee colleagues from all over the world. This element of the program starts with a six-month placement at ABB's headquarters in Zurich, where you will gain an overview of ABB's operations and work on a more strategic level.
For the final phase of the program, you will be posted to a third country for a further six to 12 months, which will further broaden your international knowledge and experience of working in different contexts and cultures.

The program gives you the opportunity to engage in a variety of roles at a number of different locations, ensuring you mature as a well-rounded professional. Furthermore, during your two foreign placements, you will have the freedom to select roles and specialize in those areas you feel that you are best suited.

On completing the program, you will join our operations in Västerås now equipped with extensive insights into the world of ABB – as well as a sound understanding of our values, leadership, culture and business: an excellent platform on which to pursue a career with ABB.

Throughout the program, you will be employed on a full-time basis with a contractual salary.
