Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Temporary Assembler will be responsible for assembling a variety of products using a wide-range of tools including electrical and battery-operated screw and torque drivers.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

This is a temporary position and hours worked cannot exceed a total of 899 hours within a year.

 Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·  Pick components from warehouse per pick list and records designated lot numbers for traceability.
·  Build a variety of products to meet production schedules.
·  Perform visual inspections of components prior to assembly.
·  Follow all applicable procedures and mechanical drawings for the model to be assembled.
·  Box items in accordance to specific drawings & procedures.
·  Responsible for identifying and troubleshooting problems that are encountered during the manufacturing process and notifying department supervisor.
·  Perform functionality tests.
·  Responsible for accurately completing paperwork.

This position will require:

·  Weekend work
·  Overtime
·  Holidays as needed
·  Short notice shift coverage/over-time
·  A fixed 10 hour workday, Monday – Thursday (2:30pm – 1:00am)  
·  Physical Demands, including:
·  Frequently lift and/or move/carry up to 25 pounds
·  Occasionally lift and/or move/carry up to 50 pounds

Basic Qualifications:  

·  Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
·  Minimum six (6) months of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Minimum one (1) year of electro-mechanical assembly experience
·  Minimum one (1) year of experience working with hand tools including calipers, multimeters, and crimpers.
·  Good teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills.
·  Commitment to quality of work performed.
·  Basic computer skills.

This posting is for a Temporary Assembler position at 3M Eden Prairie, MN. 3M anticipates that multiple openings for this position will occur over time.
